To you internet safety may seem very precautious, but it still is not precautious enough to stop everyone from posting details that could mean their safety in public.
How would you like if a group of ex-criminals and people about to become criminals were told where you live, your name and shown a photo? Well posting your full name can give them access to all this. By certain software.
Everytime someone posts a message, photo, video or anything on the internet, their IPaddress is posted with this. This address if given to the right people, can tell them what make your computer is, and from there they can find out who it is regestered to, therefore finding out where you live. If you post anything that is prohibited it will be reported and this procedure will be carried out. You will be possibly charged.
What's the worst that can happen?

What if someone is posting threatening or vulgar messages, images, etcetera of myself?
If someone does post threatening or vulgar or something that hurts you, on the internet, you do need to stop them. Not just for yourself, but also to stop them doing it further to other people. If it is something you don't want your parents to see, you still have to tell.
There is a certain method to follow if this does happen to you:
1. Print out the page in which you found it on, or if you for what ever reason can't, copy it to your hard drive and/or memory stick, your ipod or MP3 player can also be used as a memory stick.
2. If the computer is yours or your families, I suggest you add the page onto your favourites. By clicking favourites, the folder with a star in it should be beside it, at the top of the page amoung other buttons like Back.
3.Go tell your parents/guardian or police, but DON'T phone the emergency services!
4.If visible on the page find the IP Addresses of the people who are making the threatening or vulgar posts and report it to the police and the publisher of the page, if one, for example the publisher of this page is Piczo, producer ClearSkys, both should be told.
5.The police will help you track the people and charge them, if necessary.

If you are on a website like Lime Wire, it is a sharing website. Signing up to it and downloading music or anything else from it means you have agreed to allow software, music or any files in that perticular part of your hard drive to be shared with people around the world. This is called P2P, Peer-To-Peer. By downloading music, software or folders from this website or others like it, you are making a copy of someone elses. With this people could let a virus download into your computer or you could download a virus from theirs. Also it will prevent your computer working to it's full potential, making it slower and maybe shutting down without a command to.

Anyone, with the right equipment, can watch your online conversations on MSN, Yahoo IM, IMEEM IM, Sype, IMVU Messenger, Myspace IM, Google Talk, or any other Instant Messenger. So NEVER give out details, like full names, telephone no.'s, out. Also programes can put in advertisements in your Instant Messages, if this happens you have downloaded something harmfull. You can get rid of this by going to Settings, Control Panel and Add/Remove Programes, from there you can delet the programe if you know it's name or what you had there before it happened.
